Spiders are of the arachnid family. Scientists discover new species of spiders annualy so it`s difficult to identify spiders.Scientists think that spiders are useful as they eat insects and keep balance in nature. female spiders are much bigger and dangerous than male ones. they lay nearly 2000 thousand eggs and keep them in sacs of white silk. These eggs develop in a few weeks, hence, there may be millions of spiders during a short period of time.Scientists think that spiders in modern Egypt aren`t dangerous, However in ancient Egypt there were deadly spiders.

This story is related to a dangerous species which lived in ancient Egypt and still live in the tombs.

The role of the internet

The internet played a vital role in this story. It helped the main characters in the story to exchange knowledge about the unknown species of spiders. It enabled them to take immediate decisions in the fight against the deadly female spider.

A foreigner robber got news about a newly- discovered tomb in the Western Egyptian desert that contained golden treasures. He accompanied another three robbers and headed for the site hoping that they may find other treasures.


They were armed with modern technological equipments that weren`t used before by the Egyptian scientists. The four robbers drove to the desert in two modern land cruisers that made no noise. They switched off the cars lights 200 metres away from the site. They left their cars 50 metres away and began to walk.


When they entered the tomb , they used a modern machine that had the ability to show what behind the wall .it looked like " x" ray machine. They also used a computer to analyse pictures.They wanted to discover if there were other rooms than the two which the six Egyptian archaeologists found a week before. They found a room. They enterd it and carried the treasures to their cars but they were all bitten by the spiders.


The next day they were found dead by a pilot of a helicopter who was in his way to a transmitter in the desert which had a technical problem. The pilot thought they were died of thirst so he contacted the police through his radio. The police reached the site and drove the cars to a police station in a town called Hamdayya south -west of cairo.


A female spider could escape fron the car and went to a house next to th police station . It belonged to the Hassan`s family.It left this house as it was noisy and full of light. Ayman Hassan the main character and our hero was on his way to the shops when he saw the spider in the garden. It was very big and black with two yellow lines on its back. it had eight eyes and long legs with two long fangs in its mouth. The female spider resorted to a house next to Ayman`s as it was calm and dark. It was about to lay its eggs so it needed a quiet place.


Ayman was an informative university student.


He got a computer from his uncle as a present. he used the internet for his university studies and for making friends of different nationalities.
Ayman decided to collect information a bout the strange spider that he saw throuh the internet. Ayman phoned a zoology student to get some information but in vain.


Ayman found a translation on the internet written by DR. Shreen Fakhry who worked for Oxford university. It was about the story of an ancient Egyptian town which was burnt by its people to get rid of the deadly spides but in vain the spiders found their way to underground tombs and escaped death.

Ayman sent an e-mail to DR. Shreen informing her of the description of the spider he saw.DR. Shreen sent Ayman a picture of a deadly spider . This picture was sent to DR . Shreen by an Egyptian archaeologist.

The spider that Ayman saw was the same as the one in the picture. DR Shreen talked to professor jones, the head of the zoology departmentn at Oxford university. He told DR. Shreen that the spider was not only dangerous to the people in Egypt but also to the whole world as these species could spread in no time. He was so interested in spider that he decided to travel to Egypt at once.

Ayman received an e-mail from DR. shreen telling him that professor Jones would be in Hamdayya the next day.Ayman was about to tell the police according to DR. Shreen`s advice but his uncle refused this act as it would affect business badly and Ayman wasn`t sure of his story about the dangerous spider. uncle waleed told Colonel Mikhail, the police chief of every thing. The colonel asked professor Jones to go with the police officers to the archaeological site to find a spider and identify it. During their journey to the site , Captain Ahmad listened to the professor who spoke about the way of making an effective antivenom . he explained that venom was put into an animal then the body of the animal produce antibodies to fight the venom. then scientists extracted thes antibodies and kame it safe to be used as an antivenom.


Three officers ,captain Ahmed, Ayman and the professor went into the tomb wearing protective clothes They used insecticide and the professor equipment to kill the spiders. An officer was bitten by a female spider which could escape. The professor decided that the this spider was an unknown species.



Captain Ahmad decided to destroy the site to get rid of the spider but the prof didn`t a gree as it was difficult to kill all the spiders as they would find underground place to hide in them.The Colonel asked the team to return to the town and bring the dead spider to send its venom sacs to an antivenom lab.As they were returnig to the town they found that the police put a barrier to prevent people from getting into or out of the town as then people was found dead in the site.in the morning the searched the town to find a female spider. Ayman told the professor jones that he saw the spider going to the empty house next to his.


Indeed the spider was there and its eggs hatched and there were a family of 2000 young spiders. when the team enterd the house they switched their lights. two thousand small spiders began to move like the waves of the sea. Poisonous insecticides were poured. some died but others escaped through the door.

The female spider attacked a man in the doorway but the captain knocked it to the ground. Another officer lifted the insecticide tank and hit the spider with it . the tank trapped its leg. It used its fang against itself . It cut its leg to get rid itself.it jumped with its seven legs int Ayman`s face and could tear the mask . It bit ayman several times so Ayman was in real danger and had few a hours to servive.

An ambulance took ayman to the intensive care. the captain ordered his men to look for the dead body of the female spider.
The plant which the ancient Egyptian used as an antivenom had to be brought from sinai.


Wafaa Sultan a botanist was on her way to sinia to get the plants which would be used for making antivenom to cure Ayman. This plant was called Negra plants. In Sinai Wafaa could get the plants but she and the team with her faced real dangers as it rained heavily and there was a rough storm which hidered them from getting back on the helicopter as they planned before. Therefore , they decided to drove to the hospital. She faced real dangers but she was so brave that she could reach the hospital in time.


The doctors used the plants at once tomake the antivenom and saved Ayman`s life . Unfortunately ayman was bitten again by the same female spider which could enter the intensive care

As Ayman was preparing his camera to take a photo of the family , he saw the female spider near his sister`s shoulders. He asked his sister to keep still and blinded the spider with the flash of the camera. he could trapped the spider inside the aluminium box of the camera but he was bitten again




Ayman was congratulated from everyone for his intelligence and bravely.
The bite didn`t cause him any harm as his body produced antivenom when he was bitten the first time.

Ayman appeared on Tv as a national hero who saved the whole world fron certain death.
Professor Jones offered Ayman a chance to study at Oxford University and told him that he shouldn`t worry about work as the best company in England wanted a man like Ayman Hassan to work for
